Keith P. Schoeneberger, Of Counsel to Pasulka & Associates, is an experienced litigator with over 35 years of experience in civil trials and appeals. As a skilled courtroom advocate, Mr. Schoeneberger assists clients in resolving a wide range of litigation matters.
Having written briefs for and argued numerous appeals, Mr. Schoeneberger has experience in the Illinois Supreme Court and appellate courts, and in the United States Courts of Appeal for the Seventh, Ninth, Tenth and Federal Circuits.
Mr. Schoeneberger began his career with the prominent Chicago firm of Ross & Hardies in 1974 where he became a partner in 1981. He joined McGuireWoods as a partner when it merged with Ross &Hardies in 2003. Thereafter, he was a founding partner of the Chicago office of Dewey &LeBoeuf from 2005-10.
For 35 years, Mr. Schoeneberger has handled a wide variety of complex hearings and trials, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret infringement actions in state courts in Illinois, Florida and Texas, and the Federal courts in Illinois, California, Delaware and Michigan, as well as the International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. He also has handled several energy matters involving coal gasification and contested rights of energy companies in Illinois. Several of his trials have lasted more than two weeks.
Mr. Schoeneberger has developed an expertise in the trial of complex divorce matters involving custody, the valuation of partnership and other business interests, and imputing income to a spouse. He has used skills acquired in fiduciary duty litigation to protect his clients' rights against the dissipation, and concealment of assets and income.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in 1970 from Georgetown University, Mr. Schoeneberger obtained his law degree in 1974 from Northwestern University School of Law where he was an Article Editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Mr. Schoeneberger was involved in monitoring compliance with legal ethics at his firms, and has written and spoken on that subject, and civil procedure practice.
